At least two years of full-time, post-baccalaureate, health-related work experience or a doctoral degree in a field underlying public health. This requirement is waived for applicants who are medical students or applicants to the JD/MPH, MSW/MPH, and the MSN/MPH combined degree programs

GRE: The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required, but there are some exceptions:
(a) applicants with an MD, PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited American university need not submit the GRE.
(b) MPH/JD applicants may be eligible for a GRE waiver (see the MPH/JD).
(c) MCAT: The concentration admissions committees prefer the GRE but starting with fall 2012 applicants the committees will consider the MCAT. However, if in the opinion of a committee the MCAT scores are deemed too low, or courses and grades are a concern, then the committee might still require the applicant to submit GRE scores.
The GRE General Test must have been taken within 5 years of application to the MPH program. Beginning November 2011, the GRE's scoring scale will change from reporting scores on a scale from 200-800 to a scale from 130-170. For GREs scored with the old method, it is preferred that applicants have a minimum score of 500 or 50th percentile for each category (verbal and quantitative) and a minimum of 4.0 or 50th percentile for analytic writing. For GREs scored with the new method, it is preferred that applicants have a score at the 50th percentile or better for each category (verbal and quantitative) and a minimum of 4.0 or 50th percentile for analytic writing.
Foreign applicants: TOEFL examination completed within two years of enrollment with a minimum acceptable score of 600 on the paper-based test, 250 on the computer-based test, or 100 on the internet-based test.
Highly recommended are:
One general biology course;
One health related science course (e.g., nutrition, anatomy, microbiology, or physiology);
A college level mathematics course (e.g., calculus or statistics; calculus is preferred for students concentrating in epidemiology) and at least two years of high school algebra - see note "8" above for biostatistics concentration calculus requirement;
One year of college level chemistry;
Two courses in behavioral sciences, including a course in sociology or social psychology, and a course in subjects such as sociology, anthropology, psychology, political science, or economics; and
A basic computing course
